As a novice painter in acrylics, I truly appreciated the step by step approach you presented. First it was selecting from a choice of photographs and your recommendations on cropping/design etc to fit the canvas and then it was helping a “non drawer” like me to work on a grid method to transfer it to the canvas.
When it came to colour choice, if I didn’t have the right paint colour you were always able to advise on “what to mix with what” to try and work it out. Mostly I liked the demonstrations and then the opportunity to practice what we had observed. Even though we were working on the same flower, we as students chose different variations and you provided one on one feedback to each of us.
Although your style of teaching is demonstration and practice, you always encourage painters, (at all levels of expertise) to find their own niche. And may I add, your attention to detail is phenomenal.
