Information on art related matters?

Positive guidance and motivation?

All of this and more is available to you no matter where you live.

I have been teaching art for over 30 years and much of this has involved individual mentoring. I have always been willing to share everything I know about painting and the feedback from my students has been overwhelmingly positive. I have also acted as a juror for juried shows and given thousands of painting critiques, both in my workshops and privately.  I feel fortunate to be able to help others and It is always very rewarding to see a person take their art to the next level, armed with new insight, new skills and lots of encouragement.

Now it is time to take this option on line for those who are unable get to my workshops or need feedback in their own time.

I am available for beginners or more experienced painters.  Subject matter can include painting florals, landscapes, abstracting the landscape, loosening up your paintings, non-objective abstracts, or discussion on any other art related matter such as varnishing, writing an artist statement, exhibiting, etc.

Topics will be geared to your individual level, interests, and needs at the time.

Testimonials - Online Critiques

Marianne has given me online critiques where she gave me valuable feedback and areas to look at for improving my work. I found this very helpful and use it when necessary. I would suggest that anyone having an opportunity to take a class with her to do so.

Testimonials - Online Mentoring

As a mentor Marianne’s work ethic and integrity as an artist have helped shape who I am as an artist today.
Student

Marianne’s calm and reassuring presence, thoughtful coaching and adept demonstrations gave me the courage to let loose on canvas in a measured (for me!) way and let the process of learning begin!
Anabelle Murray

Since beginning my painting journey three years ago with Marianne the growth and challenges I’ve experienced have been met with positive and encouraging words from her.  Without Marianne’s invaluable input my work would not have evolved as it has!  Her skill as a teacher and projection of how to express yourself with brush to canvas is a special talent.  Her constructive criticism of my work in progress has step by step built my awareness of all aspects of my canvas as I work it.  What her trained eye sees has enabled my ability to express myself with colour, value, light and technique.  I methodically dissect her critiques and take her input seriously, knowing fully with her support she is open to my questions and ideas that I may have to move my paintings forward successfully.
